Research interests

The e-Bioscience group is part of the Bioinformatics and Biomedical Computing section of the Department of Epidemiology and Data Science. Our group researches and develops new methodologies for the analysis of biomedical research data using advanced concepts from information and communication technology (ICT). We work closely with AMC researchers that have large or complex data analysis problems in various areas, for example medical imaging, genomics, artificial intelligence and medical data security. Together, we are able to accomplish research data analysis faster, more easily, or more securely.  This research area has been coined more generally as "e-science", which stands for "enhanced science” which is obtained with the help of advanced information technologies.

Our research activities are therefore multidisciplinary, in the space between Computer Science, Medical Imaging, Bioinformatics or more generally Medical Informatics. See also http://www.ebioscience.amc.nl
