Research interests

My research focusses on the optimalization of stroke care. This concerns optimalising the organisation of care for stroke patients in a network of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and eventually at home and the transfer of information winthin that network. This in order to not only improve treatment times in reperfusion therapy for acute stroke  but also reduce duration of stay and thus waiting times in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes and to achieve a higher rate of accurate secondary prevention in these patients. Another focus of research is value based health care in stroke, which encompasses the improvement of information provision to patients and the development and implementation of patient reported outcome and experience measures in the whole network of stroke care.
