The research in my group focusses on two research lines:

1. Understanding of the mechanisms that maintain a healthy colonic epithelium and the way these are deregulated during development of colorectal cancer.  

2. Mechanism of action of drugs used in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and the adaptation of existing successful therapies to achieve reduced side effects and enhanced efficacy.
