Research interests

HPB surgery and the pathophysiology of obstructive jaundice and effects of (preoperative) biliary drainage.The clinical  research efforts concentrate on outcome of surgical treatment of hepato-biliary and pancreatic diseases as well as evaluation of diagnostic strategies. More recently aspects of patient safety programs such as regionalisation, complication registation and checklist are included.
